updated: 1/5/03

you can find the original Tranvol2 page here:

TranVol 201
instructions:
The shader GUI remains largely unchanged and the majority of instructions from the previous page work.
There are a couple of additions however...
Surface illumination
Ambient Occlusion:
Enable - activates the effect
Detail - Increases the sampling and thus detail
Spread - Controls how much to divert the rays from the surface
0 = no spread, 1 = 90 degree spread
Distance - Specifiy the distance from which to check for ambient occlusion
useful if you want to ignore sky domes, etc
Amplitude - Controls the amount of the effect
Sub Surface Illumination
The light list has been removed due to the full inclusion of the light's own shader.
Scattering - controls mulitple scattered ray sampling
this option is a brand new addition which also includes light entering behind the object
...early days with this bit but deactivating the scattering effect removes this option...
Sampling - controls the amount of sample scatters
Diversion - dictates the diversity of scattering rays
0 = no diversion, 1 = 90 degree scattering
Fixes And Enhancements:
Transparency bug fixed
Stability Improved
Light shader inclusion:
E.g.
lights now control SSI shadows
light colors now affect SSI
light intensity has an effect
Directional Lights inclusion
Passes now work
Multiple lights now work
Speed ups to reduce marching in areas of no effect
Alpha channel fix for transparency
Lights influencing tranvol2 do not crash xsi when hidden
Ambient Occlusion now incorporated
Multiple Scattering now started
Linux Random sampling error
